Registration

To register to vote, a completed voter registration application must be submitted to officials at any time, but at least 30 days before an upcoming election. You cannot register to vote for the first time online. However, if you moved within your county or changed your name, those updates can be made online. You’ll receive a Voter Registration Certificate after the application has been processed.

Apply for the First Time in Your County

Here are several options for completing your registration to vote for the first time in your county. If you moved to your current county from another Texas county, you must still register to vote for the first time in your new county.

  1. Request a voter registration application online from Travis or Williamson County elections offices. They will mail it to you. The completed application can be mailed back to the County Elections Office, or you may drop it off at the specified locations.
  2. Request a registration application from the Texas Secretary of State. They will mail it to you along with a postage-paid envelope to return the completed application.
  3. Contact us and a Volunteer Deputy Registrar will bring a registration application to you to complete on-the-spot and return it for you.

Update Registration within the Same County

If you’ve moved within the same county or only need to change your name, you may do so here.
